 Jaguim (festivities)
Tzedaka promotes the organization of activities aimed at making its beneficiaries aware of their roots. The program is designed to:
offer its beneficiaries a framework of reference and help them construct a feeling of belonging to the community;
strengthen their Jewish identity;
contact them with customs and traditions encouraging the celebration of Jewish festivities.
To this effect, all the people that turn to the CIAO (Integral Center for Assistance and Counseling) receive traditional Jewish food on festive days, in addition to their monthly benefits. Thus for example, in Passover they are given matzo to share at home and recall the meaning of this jag (festivity), which represents the conquest of our freedom with the exit of the Jewish Peoples from Egypt. In Rosh Hashanah they are furnished with a basket containing all the food required to celebrate in their households the beginning of a new year.
