On the occasion of Rosh Hashanah and within the frame of the Integration into the Community Program, two events were organized for the families of the social system, together with Leaders, Volunteers and Professionals.
Over 500 young people expressed their commitment with Tzedakah Youth by attending the solidarity night held at Metropolis Films. The board of Tzedakah Youth raises funds for the Housing Area.
The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee brought together leaders and professionals of Latin-American Jewish Institutions in the city of Cartagena, Colombia.
The Childhood and adolescence area can be financed through the solidarity of 900 women, who provide support to children aged from 0 to 18 belonging to families of the social system of assistance.
B’rith was filled with the gaiety and enthusiasm of more than 100 survivors of the Shoah from to the Jewish Community of Uruguay who, in spite of the difficult weather conditions, decided to make the effort of attending the Iom Haatzmaut celebration knowing it would be an opportunity to be enjoyed.
Two well-known international speakers came to Uruguay and we took the opportunity to invite them to participate, on Sunday August 17, in a training activity for leaders and volunteer commissions of the Tzedakah Foundation. Other Community institutions were also invited to this activity.
One of tzedaka foundation’s aims is, through tradition, bring the families within the social assistance system nearer to their jewish roots. In an atmosphere of celebration, on september 25, at b’nai b’rith’s main hall, leaders, professionals and families receiving assistance toasted together to the new year.
The work insertion program of tzedaka foundation promotes – among other action lines – the formation of protected workshops for the production of different articles, in order to give opportunities to generate income to the persons who receive the assistance of the social centres of the community.
All the solidarity women finance the programs of childhood area. On september 15, in kibón, more than 300 women attended the event programmed in recognition of their solidarity. As in every year, the objective of the gathering was to inform on the programmes for children.
