One of tzedaka foundation’s aims is, through tradition, bring the families within the social assistance system nearer to their jewish roots. In an atmosphere of celebration, on september 25, at b’nai b’rith’s main hall, leaders, professionals and families receiving assistance toasted together to the new year.
Mr. Armando litvan, vice-president of tzedaka foundation, gave a moving speech and yavne’s rabbi tzvi elon blew the shofar and gave a message on the occasion of the new year 5769.
Pepe bansik was in charge of the entertainment and all present participated in karaoke, dancing and singing. There was also a raffle of gifts.
The celebration finished with the distribution of the traditional rosh hashanah baskets which are donated, year after year, by a collaborator of the foundation.
